Domaine de l'R
Domaine de l'R is the creation of Frédéric Sigonneau, a reality in the heart of Touraine, on the lands of Frederic's family business, after two intense formative experiences in Spain. Frédéric takes over the original 9 hectares of Cabernet Franc vineyards, subsequently adding Chenin Blanc to build a vineyard park that fully represents the typicality of the area, accompanied by his wife Charlotte. This is a project that aims not only to represent a winery but to encompass multiple meanings: the Red and Rosé of Cabernet Franc, the Rebirth of the family domaine, the Return to roots, a Thank You to those who joined the adventure.
The production philosophy is inspired by a principle of deep respect for nature and the territory. The vineyards are cultivated entirely according to organic methods: weeding is done mechanically and the vines are protected using only sulfur and copper. The harvest is strictly manual, preceded by careful tastings of the grapes and chemical-physical analyses to ensure perfect ripeness. In the cellar, Frédéric adopts a minimalist approach: the grapes are moved by gravity and, to preserve freshness and fruit, only raw concrete tanks or small steel containers are used for winemaking. Fermentations occur spontaneously, without the addition of external yeasts or bacteria.
The wines of Domaine de l'R tell the red soul of the Loire, without forgetting the iconic whites. Wines that authentically interpret the Cabernet Franc of Chinon, characterized by extraordinary freshness and the typical elegance of the Loire. The whites are always interpreted in a traditional manner, with a preference for full-bodied and complex profiles.
