Luca Leggero
The Piedmontese producer Luca Leggero is committed to the enhancement of the enological territory of Canavese, cultivated with artisanal care and with a keen eye towards environmental sustainability. Born in 1990, Luca grew up in Villareggia, a small municipality on the outskirts of Canavese, located between Turin and the Aosta Valley, a place dedicated to wine production since ancient times. The influence of his grandfather, secretary of Coldiretti and a great winegrowing enthusiast, was fundamental in bringing Luca closer to the world of wine. Thus, at just sixteen, Luca Leggero began to engage in winemaking, a passion he pursued alongside his legal studies, culminating in the founding of his own venture in 2015 right in Villareggia, his hometown. The modern winery is designed according to principles of functionality and environmental sustainability, nestled within a small hill that reduces its visual impact, also serving as natural thermal insulation.

The rows are planted between 250 and 300 meters above sea level on morainic soils, formed by glacial deposits accumulated over time that have resulted in a high presence of sand, gravel, and rock blocks. The agronomic management is based on the principles of organic farming while the pruning method is the "Simonit and Sirch" method, aimed at the well-being and physiological balance of the plant. For winemaking, both steel tanks and wooden truncated-conical vats are used, the latter employed in the processing of Nebbiolo grapes. Both types of wine containers are equipped with temperature regulation systems, ensuring a controlled progression of the fermentation processes. Meanwhile, the subsequent aging phase takes place in terracotta amphorae and large Austrian oak barrels, often used together by the producer.
