The “Cà d’Maté” by Cantine Garrone is one of the most representative wines of the Piedmontese company, a noble red with deep minerality. Although it unjustly lacks the fame of the wine-producing Langhe, Northern Piemonte is an area extremely suited for the production of great reds, also for aging, which possess distinctive traits depending on the production municipality. Cantine Garrone is a reality that has particularly deep roots, in the true sense of the word, since the year of its foundation dates back to 1920 and the vineyards belonging to the family are up to a hundred years old, being partially pre-phylloxeric. Manual harvesting and meticulous care of the vineyard are the prelude to a meticulous cellar work, which allows for the production of authoritative and characterful liquids, with great backbone and freshness. A strong expression of territory.
The Garrone “Ca d'Maté” embodies the local tradition of the blend composed of Nebbiolo, Croatina, and Prunent. The label takes its name from the old cellar where the wines of the winery age.and, after a meticulous manual harvest, the process continues in the winery with alcoholic fermentation lasting at least 10-12 days in stainless steel tanks at a maximum temperature of 28°C. It then ages for one year in oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation will also take place.
The wine “Ca d'Matè” presents itself in the glass with a bright and luminous ruby color. The olfactory impact is multifaceted and varied, combining a fresh and winey aspect, made of raspberries and strawberries, with a refreshing balsamic note of licorice and aromatic herbs. On the palate, the liquid reveals itself to be full and enveloping, perfectly balanced between softness and sculpted tannins that dictate the rhythm of the sip and enhance the gastronomic vocation of the liquid.
