De Beaumont

Fabio de Beaumont is a Campanian winemaker of noble origin who in 2014 collected and elevated the agricultural tradition of the family, established since 1675 on the mountainous ridges of the area of Castelvetere sul Calore, in the province of Avellino. However, until the 1970s-80s of the last century, the De Beaumont lineage dedicated the cultivated grapes to direct sale, only to later start vinifying and marketing on their own. Today Fabio is supported in his adventure by his grandmother, Baroness Alessandra, and his father Francesco, as well as by Marco Moccia, an expert agronomic consultant.

The hectares dedicated to the vineyards of Fabio de Beaumont are 4, reserved for the traditional varieties of the territory of Castelvetere sul Calore, namely Fiano, Coda di Volpe, and Aglianico, in addition to Malvasia and Barbera, the latter brought by an ancestor of Fabio directly from Piemonte. These vines, which benefit from a cool climate, the volcanic origin of the soils, and an altitude between 500 and 700 meters above sea level, are cultivated according to the principles of organic farming, limiting the use of treatments, carried out with low doses of copper and sulfur. The Barbera vineyard has survived phylloxera and includes vines over 150 years old, trained with the traditional avellinese pergola system, a true viticultural heritage. In the cellar, an enology is adopted that aims to enhance the most authentic essence of the territory, based on spontaneous fermentations in stainless steel tanks, often with skin maceration even for white grapes, and aging always in steel on the fine lees. Furthermore, taking advantage of the cool climate and the significant altitude of the vineyards, Fabio also dedicates himself to the production of sparkling and sparkling wines, made through the Metodo Ancestrale and the Metodo Classico. Regardless of the label in question, throughout the entire production cycle, the use of additives and invasive operations is excluded, with only very low doses of sulfites added as needed.

The wines of Fabio de Beaumont reflect the mountainous spirit of the territory, offering a fresh and vertical style, with beautiful tension. Alongside the actual wine production, Fabio also creates flavored wines and liqueurs using precious local ingredients, including wild sour cherry leaves.
