Giacobazzi
The Giacobazzi Winery is located in Nonantola, in the province of Modena, and is one of the most significant realities in Emilia-Romagna for the production of quality wines such as Lambrusco and Pignoletto. Founded in 1958 by Angelo Giacobazzi together with his son Antonio, the company has managed to establish itself in a territory renowned for viticulture and gastronomy, becoming a reference point in the Italian wine scene. Over the decades, Giacobazzi has managed to combine tradition and innovation, becoming synonymous with Lambrusco and enhancing the peculiarities of a territory that ranges from the gentle Modenese hills to the borders of Langhe and Colli Bolognesi. Its history is infused with family passion, with an evolution that has led the brand to conquer international markets.
The work in the vineyard and winery follows a philosophy of rigorous attention to quality and respect for the raw material. The vineyards, cultivated for generations by the Giacobazzi family, allow the production of Lambrusco Grasparossa, Lambrusco Salamino, and Lambrusco di Sorbara, each with unique characteristics of color, aroma, and flavor, in addition to Pignoletto, fresh and fruity. The company has always focused on careful winemaking and technological innovation: as early as the 1960s, semi-automatic machinery allowed for productions of 10,000 bottles per day. Every phase, from harvesting to fermentation, is followed with precision, maintaining a continuous search for excellence and enhancing the specificities of local grape varieties.
Among the most significant curiosities is the international expansion that began in 1969, when Antonio Giacobazzi landed in the United States with Lambrusco, and subsequently in Great Britain, replicating and surpassing successes overseas. In 1978, the company became linked to the world of Formula 1 by sponsoring driver Gilles Villeneuve, a partnership that unites sport and wine and is still remembered with pride today. In 1979, the Dolce Vita grape juice was born, inspired by the work of Federico Fellini, a symbol of Giacobazzi's creativity and innovation. Today, under the guidance of Antonio and his children Giovanni, Alberto, and Angela, the winery continues to produce quality wines, keeping the tradition alive while exploring new frontiers, telling through each label the long history of a family dedicated to viticulture and the passion for good wine!
