Marchand-Tawse's signature Marsannay is a Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, which stands out for its structure and expressive breadth. The story of the Maison Marchand-Tawse began in 2011, when Canadians Pascal Marchand and Moray Tawse officially started their collaboration as Maison dé Negoce, vinifying grapes purchased in Burgundy from trusted winegrowers. While Moray Tawse, an entrepreneur in finance and owner of the Canadian Tawse Winery, is a relatively new face in these parts, Pascal Marchand has been involved in wine production in Burgundy since the 1980s, having linked his story to prestigious establishments on the Côte d'Or.

Marchand-Tawse Marsannay is made from pure Pinot Noir grapes cultivated according to certified organic farming principles on soils composed mainly of clay and limestone. Following the harvest, the grapes are vinified in red, 35% whole cluster, with 5 days of cold maceration and alcoholic fermentation in oak barrels, combined with a total of 18 days of contact between the must and the skins. Malolactic fermentation takes place and the wine then ages for 17 months in 10% new French oak barrels from the Jupilles forest. Clarification and filtration are then excluded throughout the entire production cycle.

Marchand-Tawse's Marsannay has a pale ruby red colour with garnet highlights. The nose is played on intense hints of red plum and strawberry, enhanced by nuances of fine spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg. Ample, structured and juicy on the palate, characterised by anelegant tannic texture and a persistent saline finish. As for pairing, this Marsannay is exalted with game or red meat dishes, such as duck, venison or venison.
