The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo by Emidio Pepe is a true monument to Italian viticulture, one of those reds capable of challenging time and establishing a dialectical relationship with it. Truly a bottle that needs no introduction, this Montepulciano produced by one of the most renowned and esteemed wineries in Italy has always been part of the select circle of our favorite wines. How to describe it in words? The possibility of tasting different vintages of Emidio's wines in vertical tastings allows one to fully grasp its greatness and immense evolutionary potential, reserved only for the best reds in the world. Here in Torano Nuovo, in the Teramo area, the idea of producing quality wines that faithfully reflect the vintage and territory has become something greater, something capable of filling the hearts of enthusiasts. Legendary.

The Pepe Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is produced with pure grapes of the same name, coming from 30-year-old vines that rest on clayey and medium-textured soil. In the vineyard, the principles of organic farming are meticulously followed, integrating them with some biodynamic practices, although the idea of healthy grapes and soil was already inherent in Emidio's mentality.biodynamic, although the idea of healthy grapes and soil was already inherent in Emidio's mentality. In the winery, the process continues with manual destemming of the bunches and spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in vitrified concrete tanks, followed by bottling and hand decanting without filtration. The liquid ages for 24 months in concrete containers.

The Montepulciano Pepe wine presents itself in the glass with the typical intense ruby color that is not very penetrable. The nose is of great complexity, capable of evolving impressively over time, so much so that while young it displays hints of wine and fresh fruit, later enriching its profile with notes of graphite, earth, and underbrush. A compact and austere sip, always driven by a beautiful acidity and a vital and sculpted tannin. Immortal.
