The Nebbiolo from the Marco Porello winery is a intense and elegant red wine produced in the territory of the Langhe. This label is made from pure Nebbiolo grapes sourced from the Bastia, Tanone, and Camestri vineyards located on hills with a southwest exposure and characterized by steep slopes. The vines, trained using the traditional method of espalier with guyot pruning, are planted in calcareous-sandy soils with marine-origin soils rich in sand, minerals, and fossils. The winery is a family-run business that has transitioned over the years from fruit cultivation, a typical activity of the past in the Roero area, to grape cultivation, now managing 19 hectares of vineyards with great care and respect for the land.
The Nebbiolo from the Langhe of Porello is produced with carefully selected and hand-harvested grapes, generally around the first decade of October. The clusters are then taken to the winery for gentle destemming-crushing and subsequent alcoholic fermentation that occurs at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks.of stainless steel with a maceration on the skins of about 10-12 days. Subsequently, the wine undergoes racking and pressing of the skins, after which it remains in aging in large Slavonian oak barrels for at least 12 months before being bottled and released for sale.
The Nebbiolo Porello presents itself visually with a bright ruby red color with slight garnet hues. On the nose, there are intense aromas of red fruit, including cherry, wild strawberry, currant, and raspberry, floral notes of violet and red flowers, spicy hints of licorice, cinnamon, and rhubarb, finishing with earthy returns and slight balsamic hints. On the palate, it is rich, warm, dense, and articulated, characterized by excellent freshness and sapidity that makes it very pleasant to drink, along with a fine and concrete tannin.
