The Orvieto Classico Superiore "Il Bianco" produced by the historic Cantina Decugnano dei Barbi is a blend of Grechetto, Chardonnay, Vermentino, and Procanico grapes, selected from the best parcels of the estate. A wine that perfectly reflects the ancient tradition of the territory and the vocation of a wonderful terroir for the production of important and long-lived whites. Its aromas captivate with notes of ripe fruit, yellow melon, plum, and soft honeyed hints. On the palate, it has a good structure, is harmonious, with rich and persistent aromas.

The wine "Il Bianco" is an Orvieto Classico Superiore produced on the hills of the Orvietano area. The Decugnano dei Barbi estate extends over 32 hectares, in a single corporate body, characterized by the presence of soils originating from sedimentation of oceanic seabeds from the Pliocene era. The vineyards are cultivated at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level, on sandy soils, with the presence of clays and fossils of shells and oysters. The cool and breezy climate and the presence of temperature fluctuations between day and night enhance the elegance of the aromas.of white grape varieties. All harvests are manual, and after a brief cooling, the grapes are gently pressed. The must is sent for fermentation in stainless steel (5% in barrique) at a controlled temperature of 14/16 °C for 15 days. Following this is malolactic fermentation, a resting period in stainless steel for at least 6 months, and the aging concludes with 12 months in bottle.

"Il Bianco" is an Orvieto Classico Superiore, harmonious and elegant, which thanks to the presence of four different grape varieties, expresses interesting notes of aromatic complexity. In addition to the characteristics of the noble grapes, the quality of the wine is enhanced by a territory with highly valuable soils particularly suited to vine cultivation. In the glass, it has a straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The bouquet emanates aromas of fresh fruit, melon, plum, accompanied by ripe honeyed nuances. The sip is very balanced, complex, broad, and persistent, with saline and mineral notes, leading towards the final freshness.
