Tenuta San Marcello

Tenuta San Marcello was founded in 2008 from the project of Massimo Palmieri and Pascale Marquet who, captivated by the beauty of the Marche lands, decided to leave the hectic life of Milan and dedicate themselves to country life, right in San Marcello. We are located on the first hills that start from the inland of Senigallia, in that small piece of land enclosed by two important denominations of the Marche, to the right Jesi and its Verdicchio and to the left Morro d’Alba and its Lacrima. The two young men were so enchanted by this place that they transferred their love and passion into the care of the vineyards, adopting a very sensitive and respectful vision, based on an eco-sustainable agriculture with low environmental impact. The winery began its activity as an agriturismo and immediately dedicated itself to enhancing the products of its land. Those 3.7 hectares of vineyards, dedicated to Lacrima grapes (2.2 hectares) and Verdicchio (1.5 hectares), soon became a precious treasure. From here, local wines are born that, year after year, conquer the market for their high expressiveness.territorial. Thus, a 360-degree winery is born, capable of telling its land through liquids of great typicity.

The vines of the San Marcello winery grow in a very ventilated area, located about 220 meters above sea level, on a calcareous-clay soil. The use of any chemical products is banned in the vineyard, including treatments with copper and sulfur. To preserve the vitality of the territory, only microorganisms naturally present in the soil or plant and algae-based preparations are used. Harvesting is done manually, and the pressing takes place a few dozen minutes later. Even in the winery, a very careful approach is continued, allowing the must to transform into wine, thus preserving all the primary aromas of the grape.

The production of wines from Tenuta San Marcello is still low, and a limited number of bottles are still produced. They are expressions of strong personality that encapsulate all the varietal individuality of the grape and know how to transport us to that small patch of Marche land.Verdicchio di Jesi and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba of excellent quality, virtuous examples of ancient traditions and respect for nature.
