In Der Eben
Weingut In Der Eben is an interesting Alto Adige reality, which cultivates vineyards and produces wines with the utmost respect for the surrounding environment. In the 1990s, as a true pioneer, Johannes Plattner together with Heinrich Mayr of the Nusserhof winery began vinifying the grapes from his vineyards, which have been managed under organic farming since 1993, according to the guidelines of the Bioland Association. Starting in 1994, Urban Plattner, son of Johannes, decided to convert the company to biodynamics, with the aim of creating healthy and genuine wines in harmony with the environment and the natural biodiversity of the territory. A vision in which the vineyard is part of a larger ecosystem to be respected and maintained in balance, minimizing the interference caused by human work in the fields.
porphyries of ancient volcanic origin, schists, glacial moraine debris, and alluvial deposits transported by the Adige and the numerous streams that descend from the mountains. Despite the latitude and location in the heart of the Alps, Alto Adige has a rather mild climate. The region is protected by the mountains from disturbances coming from the north and is open to the south to the breezes rising from Lake Garda. The constant ventilation and the temperature fluctuations between day and night favor gradual ripening of the grapes with intense aromatic profiles. The vineyards are divided into many small plots located in the Renon area, above Bolzano, surrounded by woods and rich spontaneous vegetation. The vineyard work is carried out manually, with the utmost attention to the vines and always trying to preserve the natural vitality of the soils. The only goal is to bring to the winery grapes of excellent quality that are vinified very simply, with spontaneous fermentations and the use of only indigenous yeasts. To maintain expressive integrity, the wines are bottled without filtration.
