Cantina di Trento

The Cantina Sociale di Trento was founded in 1956 by 11 Trentino winemakers, united by the goal of enhancing their grapes and facing the market with greater confidence. From the very beginning, the cooperative aimed to reconcile agricultural tradition with wine quality, placing the direct experience of its members and respect for the territory at its core. Today, about 400 members have joined the project, each with small vineyards located on the hills around Trento, where sunny exposure and soil variety favor a slow maturation of the grapes, allowing for the production of elegant and complex wines.

The vineyards of Cantina Sociale di Trento extend over approximately 650 hectares. Among the main white grape varieties are Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Müller Thurgau, Sauvignon, and Gewürztraminer, while the reds include Merlot, Lagrein, Pinot Nero, Marzemino, and Teroldego. The cultivation aims for low yields to enhance the quality of the grapes, and the harvest is done manually. The winemakers follow careful practices, from calibrated pruning to meticulous soil management, to preserve the health of the vines and produce wines that best express the terroir. A portion of the vineyards is cultivated organically, adopting sustainable methods that protect the environment and promote plant vitality.

In the winery, the grapes from Cantina Sociale di Trento are carefully selected and vinified with temperature-controlled fermentations to enhance aromas and freshness. The white wines mainly mature in steel, preserving elegance and liveliness, while the reds age in both steel and wood, achieving structure and harmony with finely integrated tannins. Among the main labels of the winery, the classic method Zell stands out, as well as the Heredia line, which offers whites and reds of great personality, and the mountain wines Santa Colomba, which tell the story of the higher altitude microclimates. Each bottle from Cantina Sociale di Trento is the result of passion, care, and respect for the territory: an invitation to discover the authentic wines of the Trentino mountains
