Christina

Christina has been passionate about wine since she was a child. She grew up on her family’s farm, where she quickly became involved in vineyard work and was captivated by the stories about wine. In the cellar, she began to understand the microbiological processes behind fermentations and gained a direct and profound knowledge of the vine’s production cycle. After university, she worked as an importer in London, where she came into contact with the vast world of wine and fell in love with its diversity of styles, techniques, and flavors. In 2007 she started working in her parents’ winery, and in 2013 she launched her own project together with her husband. They also decided to begin a conversion to organic viticulture, respecting biodiversity and preserving the characteristics of the terroir.

In the vineyard, Christina is deeply committed to the health of the soil and the vines. Only physiologically mature and healthy grapes are hand-harvested through careful selection. Throughout the vegetative cycle, canopy management and the nutrient supply to the plants are carefully calibrated to optimize light and shade, promoting optimal ripening. No chemical or synthetic fertilizers are used. The estate covers 28 hectares, with 70% of the vineyards dedicated to indigenous red varieties such as Zweigelt and St. Laurent, while the remaining 30% is planted with white varieties including Grüner Veltliner, Muskateller, and Welschriesling.

In the winery, Christina works with spontaneous fermentations and indigenous yeasts. The wines are aged in oak vats and 500-liter amphorae without filtration or added sulfites. This artisanal approach, refined over the past ten years, combines ancient winemaking methods with respect for the natural rhythms of the vineyard and the characteristics of each variety. Christina’s wines stand out for their ability to express the Carnuntum terroir: the reds show elegance and depth, while the whites and macerated wines display freshness, fruity aromas, and subtle mineral nuances. Every bottle reflects the family’s history, the biodiversity of the vineyards, and the authentic elegance of Austrian wines.
