Eric Taillet

Immersed in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne, Maison Taillet is a small family-run business that has managed to carve out a significant role in the panorama of craft Champagne. Officially founded in 1961 by Daniel Taillet, the family's production was already active in the preceding decades and has its roots in the early 1900s. Today, it is Éric Taillet, the fourth generation, who passionately and competently carries on the work started by his predecessors. The village of Baslieux-sous-Châtillon hosts the winery and vineyards of the Maison, located in one of the most suitable areas for the cultivation of Meunier, the symbolic grape of the valley. With about 5.75 hectares spread across six neighboring municipalities, of which over 80% is cultivated with Meunier, Maison Taillet embodies the territorial identity of the Marne, distinguishing itself for a personal and recognizable imprint. Its name is now synonymous with typicity and respect for the environment, elements that define every bottle produced.

for years conducted without herbicides or chemical fertilizers, with an approach close to organic. The agronomic practices aim to preserve the vitality of the soil through the addition of organic matter, promoting the development of microfauna, deep rooting, and a good water reserve. The soils, composed of clay, limestone, flint, and marl, provide a perfect base to express the aromatic richness of Meunier. Éric Taillet has identified in the old family vines, some dating back to the 1950s, a valuable source of expressiveness and complexity. The fermentation of the cuvées occurs with indigenous yeasts and the maturations are slow and respectful, aiming to transfer into the glass all the energy of the soil and the harvest. Alongside Meunier, there are also small plots of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Arbane, and Petit Meslier, used with balance in selected cuvées.

large houses of Champagne. Each cuvée is created with the aim of telling the story of the vintage, the soil, and the unmistakable style of the Maison. Among the available products are fresh, vertical Champagnes, with great depth and personality, capable of satisfying even the most discerning palates. Éric Taillet's philosophy is now also shared by his children Dylan and Léna, who actively participate in the company's life, ensuring continuity and innovation. The winery, located in Baslieux-sous-Châtillon, welcomes enthusiasts and customers eager to get to know closely a vigneron who has made Meunier a quality flag, transforming it from a "supporting" grape into the absolute protagonist of his oenological vision.
