Jermann
The Jermann winery was born from the passion and foresight of a family of Slovenian origin, who arrived in Villanova di Farra, in Friuli, in 1881. From simple sharecroppers, the family members became vineyard owners in just a few years. A significant turning point for the family business came in the 1970s when Silvio Jermann, endowed with youthful creativity and imagination, led the family winery to the top of Italian and then global quality: no longer heavy, strong, and austere wines, but fragrant and harmonious nectars, created according to more modern logics and methodologies, but always respecting tradition.
Today, as Jermann wines are among the most appreciated in all of Friuli and known internationally, the family ownership extends over 150 hectares, of which 130 are dedicated to vineyards. The vineyards are spread across three main areas: on the prized hill of Ruttars, where the plants enjoy light and cool soil and a microclimate that is not too hot with nighttime temperature drops; on the stony soils of the Isonzo, in a sunny but ventilated area; in Villanova di Farra, where the ancient winery is located.the ancient winery, in a very picturesque portion of the territory of the Doc Collio. A new winery has been built around the Ruttars vineyards, equipped with the most modern technologies and populated by large oak barrels that create a truly magical and unique atmosphere. Here, great oenological landmarks are born, such as Vintage Tunina, Vinnae, single-varietal whites, Chardonnay W...Dreams, Pignacolusse, and Blau Blau, an ancient red that is both modern and innovative.
Jermann is the creator of wines of great quality and international prestige, among the most important architects of the excellent reputation enjoyed today by all the production of the Friuli region. The love for the territory and for the great indigenous grape varieties guide the work and contribute to offering successful results: a magnificent range of exceptional and award-winning whites, but also robust and traditional reds. Wines that have simply written the history of Italian wine and have contributed to the worldwide fame of Friuli.
